Step 1: Know Your Numbers- Guest count: How many will actually drink alcohol?
- How many will only drink non alcoholic drinks?
- Typically 75–80% of guests will drink alcohol.
- Based on guest count, typically 1 bartender per 100 guests is needed.
- 30-50% of guests drink the signature cocktails
- Guest preferences: Do they prefer wine, beer, or cocktails?
- Signature cocktails will affect the mix — increase liquor bottles if your crowd loves mixed drinks
Step 2: Choose Your Liquor Types (get all the same brand, these are versatile!)
- Don’t purchase multiple brands. Keep it simple, one type (brand) of vodka, one type of whiskey, etcetera. A clean & organized bar is a fast bar, smooth bar, and a less confused bar!
☐ Vodka ☐ Whiskey/Bourbon
☐ Gin ☐ Rum
☐ Tequila ☐ Other:
Step 3: Choose Your Wine - Champagne: 1 bottle is about 8 glasses (3 ounce pour), most couples have guests toast with what's in hand
- A bottle of wine is 4-5 pours
☐ Red Wine ☐ Rosé
☐ White Wine ☐ Sparkling / Champagne
Step 4: Choose Your Beer Types
(we suggest 2 types!)
- Keep it simple, one type of domestic, one type of imported! Example: Dos Equis and Miller Lite
☐ Domestic ☐ Imported ☐ Seltzers
